We’ll only use your SA Smart ID to set up and protect your TapAPI wallet. Tap Continue to agree to these:
TapAPI reads your SA Smart ID to verify you.
TapAPI confirms that you are the owner of your SA Smart ID.
TapAPI securely remembers your verification, so you won’t need to do this again.
🔒 Your identity stays private. We never sell your ID information, and share it only with the partners that make bank payouts and cards work. This takes less than one minute.
The app is not on your phone yet.
Scan your ID below. It takes about a minute.
Stuck? Ask a friend to help you — on this phone. The app must live on the phone you will use in your shop.
The TapAPI app needs an Android phone.
Nearly every Android works — even a cheap one. They all have the tap part (NFC).
Trying on a friend's phone first? That is OK. When you get your own Android, install TapAPI on it and scan your ID — everything moves to your phone. Only one phone holds the app at a time.
Point the camera at the barcode
Step 1 of 2 — Scan your ID barcode
Turn your SA Smart ID card over — the back has a barcode. Hold the phone like you’re taking a photo of the card. Move the card until the barcode is inside the yellow frame — it scans by itself. Got the old green ID book? Open your wallet with your cell number and add the book from inside it.
🔑
Nearly done!
Step 2 of 2 — Choose how you will log in
Your wallet opens with your cell number and a PIN you choose now. Never give your cell number and PIN to anyone. If you share them, your wallet will be locked.

Hello!
Step 1 of 3 — Get the app
Chrome may ask “File might be harmful”.
Tap Download anyway. It is safe. No question asked? The download started quietly — tap the ↓ arrow at the top of Chrome to find it.
Your wallet is made.
It lives in your browser — nothing to install. Log in with your cell number and the PIN you chose. Any time, any phone.Open my walletWant to sell one day? Come back and get the app — same ID, same wallet.
This phone cannot tap cards.
The TapAPI Till app needs tap (NFC), so there is no app for this phone. Good news: your wallet is made and works right here in your browser.Log in with your cell number and the PIN you chose. Step 1 of 3 — Downloading
Chrome asked “File might be harmful”?
Tap Download anyway. That starts the download. No question asked? It downloaded quietly — tap the ↓ arrow at the top of Chrome, then tap the file.
The file SpeedPoint.apk is downloading.
Wait a few seconds for it to finish. Chrome does this quietly — you might not see anything change on the screen.
📲
Step 2 of 3 — Install the app
Samsung phone? Turn off Auto Blocker first.
Samsung blocks apps that did not come from its own store, so the install stops with no way through.
Open Settings → Security and privacy → Auto Blocker and switch it off. Then come back here and tap the file again. You can switch it back on once the app is installed.
1
Find the file. Two easy ways:
Pull down from the top of the screen. Tap SpeedPoint.apk.
Or open your Files or Downloads app. Tap SpeedPoint.apk.
2
It asks “Install this app?” — tap Install.
3
Google Play Protect may check the app first — that is good. Let it scan. TapAPI is safe, and the scan proves it to you.
4
See a warning? Tap Install anyway. It is safe. Blocked with no Install anyway button at all? That is Auto Blocker — see the note at the top of this step.
