Can this phone do the job?
A SpeedPoint reads your Smart ID two ways:
- Tap — slide the card gently on the back of the phone to find the reader.
- See — scan the barcode on the back of the card.
We check both. Get your Smart ID card in your hand.
Phone won’t tap? Get help.
Turn the tap on:
Way 1: Swipe down from the top of your screen to open your settings menu. Find the NFC icon. Tap it. It should light up.
Way 2: Open Settings. Search for NFC. Turn it on.
Tap your card
Put the Smart ID flat on the BACK of the phone.
The reader hides under the back cover. Slide slowly until the screen changes.
Now the camera.
Turn your Smart ID over. The back has a barcode. Point your phone at it.
Eish — the tap did not work
Two things could be happening:
1. Your phone can tap — it’s just off.
Turn it on, then tap Try again:
Way 1: Swipe down from the top of your screen to open your settings menu. Find the NFC icon. Tap it. It should light up.
Way 2: Open Settings. Search for NFC. Turn it on.
2. Your phone cannot tap.
No stress — the camera can still get you started. We’ll scan the back of your Smart ID.

With this phone you will be able to:
- Accept payments from Smart IDs and wristbands
- Give out wristbands and cards to new customers
- Grow the network in your area
The wallet works in your browser. You can add the shop later — same wallet.

You can still be a SpeedPoint — you just cannot give out wristbands. Every customer must bring their Smart ID card.
With this phone you CAN:

- ✓ Sign up new TapAPI users with their Smart ID
- ✓ Credit and debit any Smart ID wallet
You CANNOT:
- ✗ Give out wristbands or NFC cards
- ✗ Take payments from wristbands

What now?
- Get your wallet at a TapAPI shop. The shop scans your Smart ID and makes your wallet. Free. One minute. Your phone does not need to scan anything.
- Then open the wallet on this phone. No app — it works in your browser with your cell number and PIN. Check money, send it, buy airtime and electricity. Your Smart ID card does the tapping at the shop.
