Wristbands for your guests, tills on your staff’s own phones, and a record of every tap. Pay as you use: no rental and no monthly fee. Load an allowance on each band and you know your maximum spend before the first drink is poured.

Built for year-end functions, conferences, festivals and venues.
Order for 20 to 2 000 guests online: R75 each up to 50, R65 from 51 to 500 and R55 above 500. Each guest opens a free wallet with the card that comes with the band.
Load each band with a fixed amount, say R200. Guests top up their own band if they want more.
The bar rings up the drink on a phone till or the venue’s Windows PC, the guest taps and types their PIN, and the drink is recorded with a name, a time and a till.
Agree with the venue to bill only what was tapped. Over-pours, spills and missing bottles become the venue’s cost, not yours.
Partners, drivers, venue staff and gate-crashers cannot drink on the company tab.
Every sale shows who, when and at which till, so the spend of the night is a record, not a guess.
A band stops when its allowance runs out. Nobody has to police the bar.
Your logo in your colour from 500 wristbands, at R5 extra each, six weeks from payment.
From 1 000 wristbands your company can run its staff wallets under its own name as a TapAPI tenant.
Bar staff use their own Android phones as tills at R25.25 per till for each day it is used; a day with no taps costs nothing. A venue that prefers its counter PC runs the till on Windows with a once-off R499 kit: tag reader, PIN keypad, USB splitter and software key.
Save a quote, valid for seven days, add your own order number for a pro forma invoice, and pay online by instant EFT, card or PayShap. Delivery is R150 for every 250 wristbands. TapAPI is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added.
A capped band stops on its own when the allowance runs out. Without a cap, the record still shows who has had eight drinks by nine o’clock, so the organiser can step in early. A drinks log per person is personal information under POPIA: decide before the night who may see names and who sees only totals, and tell your staff.
Yes. Every payment needs the PIN of the wallet the band belongs to, so a lost or borrowed band cannot pay.
No. The guest taps the wristband and types their PIN on the bar’s till. The till is a staff phone or the venue’s PC.
Yes. A Windows PC runs the TapAPI till with the once-off R499 kit: a tag reader, a PIN keypad, a USB splitter and the software key.
The wristbands (R75 up to 50 guests, R65 from 51 to 500, R55 above 500), delivery at R150 per 250, and R25.25 per phone till for each day it is used. Nothing is charged on a tap.
From 20 to 2 000 guests online. Larger events are quoted by email at help@tapapi.co.za.
Yes. Each wristband is linked to the guest’s own free TapAPI wallet, which they keep and can use at any TapAPI shop.
TapAPI’s function wristbands handle payments. For entry, VIP areas, conference attendance and tasting redemptions, TapVent is the event platform that runs on the TapAPI wallet. TapVent issues its own wristbands and explains on its site how they are set up; with a TapVent wallet band, the band that opens the gate can also pay at the bar. See TapVent’s event platform.
